The Sony BRAVIA KDL-40EX600 is one of three Bravia-2-powered HDTVs announced in 2010 as part of the KDL-EX600 Series. Unlike the KDL-EX700 models, the KDL-40EX600 is not built for Internet connectivity, although it does, at the very least, still house the Bravia 2 Engine for clear and defined color/picture detail. It is 40” large and features full 1080p HD resolution with an ultra-fast frame-rate. Like its peers, the KDL-40EX600 includes a slew of connectivity options, including composite, component, USB, and HDMI. This means the device can hookup to DVD players, USB MP3 players, Blu-ray disc players, and even Playstation 3 gaming consoles.

This unit replaced a smaller CRT so comparison to the old unit is not fair. We have a second flat panel (50 inch Plasma). We can connect to the internet via a DVI input coming from a computer -- just haven't done that yet except to test it out. I like the unit's size -- it fits in the available space just right. I am also pleased with the low power and low heat compared to the old style monitor it replaced. I have been happy with the video, colors are nice, and screen refresh are excellent. I got this unit (which I think is now discontinued) at something of a close out price and was pleased with that as well.

We use this TV for our bedroom and its great. The only annoying feature is the start-up sound it makes. Not sure if this can be disabled or not. Picture quality is awesome, sound is good, super easy to hang due to its light weight. If I could add one thing I would wish for more and better accessible input/outputs on the back. We got this as an open box item for about 60% off so not too many complaints for such a great deal!
