Announced at CES 2009 to be available sometime in the spring, the SE115 are an upgrade to Shure's lowest end set of earphones the SE110. Touting added bass as the major enhancement to the pair, the new model is available in black, red, pink and blue. Featuring a dynamic driver (which was originally used in the much bulkier Shure E2), the SE115 retains the smaller body of the original SE110. Its sound signature is explained as leaning towards the "fun and bassy" rather than the "cool and neutral" - so those looking for a more natural sound may wish to look elsewhere.

I bought these a week ago. First thing is the durability. These WILL last three to four years easily. Great quality, heavy wiring and strong tip. I had the bose triports and those were really cheaply made. The wire was like if you pulled it, it would short out. Spent more time caring for them rather then listening to to them. The tip eventually broke after 9 months of daily use (Bose) and had to cut it off and tape a new tip. Bose are cheaply made but have great sound quality. But Shure headphones are heavy duty. Also the shure headphones will never burst. I tested them out with full bass for five continuos hours and they did not pop. Cheap headphones pop after you listen to them with heavy bass. Now the sound quality is great. It has really deep bass and solid voice quality. When you listen to them its like you are hearing from an expensive sound system. Please not that you need to have a good mp3 player like ipod because most computers will not be able to use them fully unless you have an expensive sound card. Because these have only one microspeaker, the sound is sometimes mixed between the bass and treble. The more expensive shure 425 or 420s have seperate speakers for bass and treble (a woofer and a tweeter) so they get less mixing between sound and more clarity. But the sound in these 115s is great for the price. Expect solid vocals and deep bass from these. The comfort is average. But they will not fall off easily so you can use them in gym or for jogging easily. These also by my opinion block off 70 percent outside noise.
