The Bose QuietComfort 15 is a pair of fourth-generation, over-the ear headphones released by Bose in August of 2009. It builds from the QuietComfort 2’s exterior design, but features completely re-engineered noise-canceling audio technology. This new advanced technology utilizes microphones both inside and outside each earcup to sense and then dramatically reduce unwanted noise. It also relies on better-quality cushioning material to further block noise, as well as keep the user comfortable. And its core is Bose’s proprietary signal processing and audio reproduction technology, allowing the QuietComfort 15 to outperform all of its predecessors in the delivery of well-balanced and detailed audio. Additional features include automatic active equalization for better performance, fold-flat earcups that rotate 90 degrees for easy storage, and an included battery for 35 hours of music-listening.

Although everyone has different audio preferences when it comes to the sound quality they are looking for, I found that these headphones were excellent for me. What I first liked about them was the weight, they were light and did not feel like they were weighing my head down or feel like they were going to slip off. (I compared these with other Bose models and Beats by Dre headphones). It was also important that it had good sound, and this product delivered. It was also important to me that it really was truly noise cancelling. I was impressed with the technology and I can wear these in the office to do work and not be distracted or use them to listen to webinars. I also enjoy them at home when my boyfriend is playing video games and I want to block out the sound. This also help with the "fighting" for sound problem. I can not wait to use these on a flight! I will not use these at the gym. I have a cheaper pair of in-ear buds that I use for that. So if they break or I lose them I won't be heartbroken.

I held off for a long time buying these because they are so expensive. But every now and then I'd stop by the demo area and listen to them. I was always floored by how quiet they were in the store listening to their demo, but you know how demo's are. Until you get it home and you're disappointed by their "real world" capability. Recently I was getting ready to go on an airline trip and decided I wanted a good set of noise canceling headphones. Read tons of reviews and these kept coming out on top. So I took the plunge and picked them up from my local Best Buy. Boy, am I happy I did! Sitting on the plane, it was like almost everything around me melted away. I was able to close my eyes and sleep comfortably without hardly any distraction or the pads squeezing my head too hard. In fact, these are the most comfortable pads I've ever worn. And when I chose to listen to audio, I could hear music and movies very well. I gave them a whirl at work and it was amazing how much ambient noise just went away that you didn't even realize existed. Printers printing, air conditioning ducts blowing, people chatting at low to moderate levels (you can still hear voices, but they are muffled some), and all kinds of other monotonous sounds almost entirely disappear. It really is like going to another place. I wear them at work regularly now. One drawback I found, and others have talked about it, is that it sometimes feels like there's some additional pressure on your ear drums. From everything I've gathered, it's because of the really good noise canceling removing many of the sound cues your brain uses to indicate normal pressure. It's not excessive and I got used to it. Minor compared to how effective these headphones are. The audio quality is good. I wouldn't say "the best" which is a bit disappointing for a Bose product, but it's above average. Seems a little lacking in bass, but being a musician and audiophile, it's not enough to disqualify these from an audio standpoint. The unit doesn't pass audio without a good AAA battery, so always carry a spare. Bulid quality is pretty good. Plastic, of course, so I try to be gentle with them, particularly considering the price. The case it comes in is solid and holds the headphones in place well. The plastic earphone brackets seem like they might wear and break over time if you're not careful, and the headphone jack that you plug the headphone wire into is a little strange. But it's nice because you can remove the headphone wire and just use these for noise canceling without the cord getting in the way. Overall, extremely happy with these. For the price I would have liked a little more solid feel, but the noise canceling is bar-none, and the comfort is outstanding. If you need the best, give these a try. I think you won't be disappointed!

These are by far the greatest headphones ever made. The over-the-ear headphones are extremely comfortable, especially when relaxing your head on a pillow. When I first got them, I tried everything to see if they really cancelled out the noise, noisy fish tanks, dog barking at the mailman, etc. My wife even enjoys me having them so she does not have to listen to my music while working from my laptop in bed. This is a must buy for those who find yourselves trying to listen to music while in the presence of other distractions or just trying to be quite the quiet music listener. Yeah, they are kind of expensive, my wife actually looked at me as though I had lost my mind, but after one night of having them on while she was trying to sleep, she said they had already paid for themselves. Thank you Bose!!!
