This year at CES, ultrabooks are the name of the game. Lucky for Samsung, the company is well ahead of the curve when it comes to the lightweight class of notebook computers that don't skimp on power or functionality. Last year in Las Vegas, Samsung took dead-on aim at the MacBook Air with its Series 9 line of razor-thin laptops. Now, the company is back with the a new Series 9 ultrabook, and it improves on its predecessor in every way, slimming down to 2.5 lb. from 2.9, keeping plenty on ports (a common sacrifice when it comes to mobile-minded notebooks like Apple's Air), and including a strikingly crisp 13.3" 1600 x 900 matte display.

Intrigued? We were too. Take a look at our hands-on video of the Samsung Series 9, which is slated to ship in February for $1,399.99. And if you need a little more screen real estate with a thin profile, you can opt for an impressively slim .58" thick 15" version of the Series 9 that is also en route.
