Facebook will sort your friends for you, enable more selective sharing
It's no surprise that Facebook is stepping up its game. With Google+ on the loose — and many people still not quite sure what to make of it — the social giant is making every attempt to fix some of its users' most common complaints. According to TechCrunch, Facebook plans to introduce Smart Lists, a feature that will sort the people in your life who matter to you — so you don't have to.

The Smart Lists feature (which hasn't been officially announced as of yet, but is popping up on some accounts) demonstrates just how much the social network knows about our lives, for better or worse. The lists will automatically suggest clusters in what appear to be three domains: people you work with, people you went to school with, and people within 50 miles of you.

The feature will take direct aim at the core of the Google+ experience: Circles. Previously, Circles offered something uniquely elegant for a social network, allowing you to drag and drop friends into different categories based on their relationship with you (coworkers, classmates, and neighbors, for example) just like the new Facebook feature.

If the new social curation tool seems like too little, too late, why not check out our guide to migrating from Facebook to Google+?
