If you're not sure whether that new Xbox 360 shooter or Wii puzzle game is worth the full $50+ commitment, you'd probably be willing to take the game for a $2 test drive. That's what rental company Redbox is betting on with today's rollout of video game rentals to all of its over 25,000 red rental kiosks across the country.
Forgoing the traditional rental store model of racks and racks of releases, Redbox offers an all-in-one selection, payment, and pickup solution that has caught on like wildfire. You can typically find the bright red stands outside of large retailers and pharmacy chains like Walgreens. A trial of game rentals at 5,000 of the kiosks proved successful enough to warrant offering the option on the rest of the Redbox network.
You can even head to the Redbox website to find the nearest location, select and pay for your rental, and then simply pick it up whenever you have time. There are plenty of brand new games on offer, such as Duke Nukem Forever, Hunted, and SOCOM 4, so if you don't quite have the funds to pick up that new game on your wish list, it might be a good time to scrape together some change for rental.
