BMW brand Mini's newly revamped Mini Connected app for iPhone turns your gas pedal into a musical instrument, changing the car's music selection to match your driving style. The app speaks directly to the Mini's computer to obtain information on your speed and steering wheel movements. It then decides what music to play, be it slow jazz for a leisurely cruise down Main Street, or perhaps some hard rock for a spirited sprint on a country road.
The app's other trademark features include monitoring your fuel level, distance traveled, and number of miles you could venture given your current gas reserves. This information is synced during your trips and stored on the app for easy reference even when you're not in the car. There is also a new "Mission Control" mode that can offer a heads up on dangerous driving conditions and other hazards.
While Mini Connected does only sync up with the Mini brand of automobile, like the Cooper or Countryman, the app still has something to offer every iPhone owner regardless of their ride: free web radio. The app boasts a wide selection of radio stations from across the country, allowing unlimited access to your tunes of choice, and you don't even have to own a Mini to take advantage of it.
