Samsung came out swinging yesterday, unveiling new devices that run the full gadget gamut. From tablets and netbooks to new 3D internet TVs, the company's sleek design aesthetic is burning bright at CES this year.
Wifi-only Galaxy Tab
Samsung confirmed that a wifi-only iteration of its iPad competitor will go on sale in the first quarter of 2011. It's a shame Samsung wasn't able to mobilize its rival to contract-free iPad in late 2010, when the company could have taken a bigger bite out of sales in a still tablet-undersaturated market, but we're still glad to herald the arrival of the contract-free Android tablet.

Samsung Infuse 4G
The Samsung Infuse 4G is an interesting smartphone, both for its super-thin yet 4.5"-wide design and for its naming scheme, which is something of a misnomer. The phone is impressive in most respects, with a "Super AMOLED Plus" screen that is an apparent step up from the already famously bright and bold Super AMOLED. Unsurprisingly, AT&T wants to pull the wool over our eyes just like the other carriers, tacking 4G misleadingly onto the new phone's name. Of course, AT&T and Samsung are just keeping pace with the other pseudo-4G phones on the market, but still...

PC 7 Series Tablet/Netbook
While the Infuse 4G's name might indicate otherwise, it isn't much of a hybrid device. No, the real convertible all-star here is the Samsung PC 7. The PC 7 Series is half touchscreen tablet and half powerful netbook; just slide out the slender keyboard beneath the otherwise tablet-like device.

PC 9 Series Laptop
Samsung's got another weapon at the ready in its all-out onslaught against Apple's lineup, and make no mistake — the Samsung 9 Series takes direct aim at the MacBook Air. We got some one-on-one time yesterday with the Samsung 9 Series, and the device's construction is truly a marvel. Constructed out of a military-grade material called "duralumin," the 9 Series is almost unbelievably light, at 2.89 pounds and .68" thick.
The 9 Series laptop's claim to fame is being a 13.3" laptop that's lighter than (MacBook) Air, but it's packed with ports that pop out of its metallic chassis and packs some serious power for an ultra-light laptop. All around, the Samsung 9 Series felt like a miniature warship from the future that also happens to be a laptop, which befits Samsung's approach to taking aim at Apple.
New 3D internet TVs
Samsung rolled out a fleet of new TVs, and its flagship LCD device particularly is a beauty. The 65" UN65D8000 is web-ready with built-in wifi and a web browser, not to mention the latest active 3D capabilities. The connectedness of the TV is notable, but in true Samsung fashion, the design is where the D8000 Series TVs really shine. Samsung has reduced the bezel around the edge of the viewing screen to almost microscopic proportions, and it looks stunning.

Beyond the hottest and latest stuff, Samsung again mentioned its media and MP3 device, the Galaxy Player. We knew this one was coming, but an Android media player alternative to the iPod is still music to our ears.
