5 MP3 Players for Music Lovers on a Budget
The iPod is the most popular MP3 player, but that doesn't mean it's the only one out there. Many other companies have come out with different MP3 players, and all of them are solid pieces of electronics. Let's take a look at a few different MP3 players that aren't made by Apple and are much more down-to-earth than the iconic iPod.

1. SanDisk Sansa Clip+ MP3 Player

The Sansa Clip+ by SanDisk is a simple MP3 player that has 4GB of memory, basic player controls, and a simplistic display. You won't be playing videos on this device, but you can listen to your MP3s and FM radio. The screen is only 1.5" in size, and the device is small enough to easily fit in your pocket.

2. Visual Land MP3 Player

With a built-in FM tuner, 4GB to store your MP3 files, and a small body, the Visual Land MP3 Player doesn't offer a lot of flash, but it gets the job done. It does have a 1.8" color LCD screen that lists your music files, but that's about it. It also works with older computers; its minimum system requirement is Windows 98SE.

3. Kobian Hip Street MP3 Player

The Kobian Hip Street comes in at 5 ounces and only half an inch thick, but that doesn't stop it from packing in 4GB to store your music files. The screen on this super-thin device isn't even an LCD screen; it's all old-school text. But that's all you need in this $20 MP3 player.

4. Archos Clipper MP3 Player

Unlike the previous models, the Archos Clipper doesn't even have a screen. It's got 5 buttons on the front to control your MP3 selection and playing, and one on the side to control the volume. It's ultra-light and ultra-small, and because of that, it has only has 2GB of space for your MP3s. But it will run for 11 hours while playing music and is compatible with all Windows and Mac systems.

5. Sony Walkman MP3 Player

This 2GB MP3 player from Sony is a take on the classic Walkman line of portable music players, except without a dedicated player component. The entire MP3 player is contained in wrap-around headphones. The headphones are light, weighing only 1.6 ounces, and have a battery life of about 11 hours. This is a unique MP3 player, one that doesn't look anything like the traditional MP3 devices — but once you get used to it, it's quite a nice little player.
While all these MP3 players are inexpensive, it's important to remember that such a fact doesn't make them bad. All of them will do what you want: play music. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what the device that's delivering your tunes looks like; all the matters it the music — and that's what these 5 no-frills devices are all about.
