iPhone App of the Week: Keep up with your favorite PBS TV shows
While PBS has had an iPad application out for some time now, it just launched an application for the iPhone and iPod touch earlier this year.  If you're a lover of PBS programming, then the PBS iPhone application is a must-download. It allows you to keep up with and even watch some of your favorite PBS TV programming.

The streaming feature of the PBS application is one of its most exciting features. From within the PBS application, you can stream a number of full-length PBS shows for free. Current supported shows include Antiques Roadshow, Austin City Limits, and Frontline.

Shows can be streamed in their entirety, with a number of episodes available from each series. The streaming features works over wifi as well as 3G, so you can watch videos anywhere you've got a connection.

Plan ahead
Not sure when your favorite PBS program is airing? The PBS app can pull up the schedule for your local PBS station and let you know what's on right now and what to look for in the future. If you see a particular program in the lineup you don't want to miss, you can set a reminder from the app to watch to your iPhone calender.

Sharing is caring
So excited about a show that you want to tell your friends about it as well? From the Schedules portion of the PBS application, you can tweet when a show is going to air on Twitter, post it on Facebook, or email the information to a friend.

See what's coming
A Previews section of the PBS application showcases previews of upcoming PBS programming. If you're a sucker for PBS, then this section can help you decide what calendar alerts you might need to set for the coming week.

Get in the Spotlight
Not sure what to watch? The Spotlight portion of the PBS application offers some of the newest and best content available in the application. Spotlighted material ranges from full-length episodes of shows to short clips and previews from a few upcoming programs.

PBS for iPhone is a free download, available now from the App Store. If you want to stream other programming to your iPhone, check out Hulu Plus.
